In this story from The Naples Daily News, local resident Eric Jackson manages to shake up Silicon Valley giant Yahoo (YHOO - $27.13).   Because I was the first blogger to notice Mr. Jackson's Plan B campaign to increase shareholder value at Yahoo, reporter Laura Laydon called up for a couple quotes. My quotes from the Naples Daily News:

After reading Jackson’s blog, Neubert pledged his 4,500 shares (worth about $120,000 at the time).

Jackson impressed him.

“You see Carl Icahn do this stuff,” Neubert said. “But you don’t see a little guy like this doing it, and he wasn’t even from the financial world.”

“My hope is that it becomes the wave of the future, and that a lot more individual investors do this,” he said.

Disclosures and Confessions:  I own Yahoo, though I have decreased my position a bit lately (recently I sold 1/4 of my share position at $27.89)  I'm short Jan 2008 35 strike calls against half my position of YHOO and am also short Jan 2008 30 strike puts.  I like the Yahoo! product.  I use their email and use MyYahoo as my homepage.  I make extensive use of Yahoo Finance.  I also like their newsreader in YahooMailBeta.  I've even started using Yahoo search more than Google lately.
